The Quanzhou Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs in Fujian Province has issued a notice regarding the standards for identifying fierce and large dogs, along with related regulations. According to these new rules, dogs must not exceed 50 centimeters in height, 75 centimeters in length, or 30 kilograms in weight. A total of 53 dog breeds, including Tibetan Mastiffs, Chinese Rural Dogs, and Japanese Akitas, are now classified as banned.

The published list of banned fierce dog breeds includes: Tibetan Mastiff, Afghan Hound, Dogo Argentino, Argentine Mastiff, Estrela Mountain Dog, Irish Wolfhound, Bedlington Terrier, Billy, Pyrenean Mastiff, Belgian Shepherd, Pit Bull, Border Terrier, Pointer, Bernese Mountain Dog, Great Pyrenees, Great Dane, Gascon Saintongeois, Grand Bleu de Gascogne, Bearded Collie, German Shepherd, Bullmastiff, Doberman Pinscher, Russian Caucasian Shepherd, Bordeaux Mastiff, French Sheepdog, Czechoslovakian Wolfdog, Kerry Blue Terrier, Komondor, Landseer, Italian Greyhound, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Maremma Sheepdog, Mastiff, American Staffordshire Terrier, Neapolitan Mastiff, Bull Terrier, Newfoundland, Boxer, Japanese Tosa, Saluki, St. Bernard, Spinone Italiano, Borzoi, Weimaraner, Spanish Mastiff, Setter, Bloodhound, Central Asian Shepherd, Cane Corso, Fila Brasileiro, Rottweiler, Japanese Akita, Chinese Rural Dog (also known as the 'Tu Gou' or 'native dog'), as well as any mixed breed dogs with bloodlines from these listed breeds, and other fierce dogs identified by professional authorities.
