How a Chinese Li Hua Cat Shows Affection: Do They Only Bond With One Person?

When a Chinese Li Hua cat (also known as a Dragon Li) bonds with you, they will often show affection by rubbing their head against you, exposing their belly, and performing the "kneading" action on you. These cats are very sensitive to loneliness, so it's important for owners to spend plenty of quality time with them.

Firstly, a bonded Li Hua cat will rub their head and body against you, circling around your legs. Secondly, they might roll around on the floor when they see you; this behavior, displaying their vulnerable belly, is a sign of absolute trust and security. Furthermore, when you pet them, they might purr, rub their head against you, hook their tail around you, gently wag their tail, lick you, stare at you with softly narrowed eyes, slowly blink at you, lick the places you’ve touched, and even perform the "kneading" action on you – mimicking a kitten nursing on its mother. Kneading is a behavior that evokes their kittenhood memories of nursing, and shows that they consider you their closest companion. They are their most innocent and vulnerable around you. However, Chinese Li Hua cats are prone to loneliness, so it’s essential to spend quality time with them daily.

Do Chinese Li Hua Cats Only Bond With One Person?

The Chinese Li Hua cat is a native breed to China, having survived through natural selection for thousands of years. Due to their large population base, they are unfortunately also a common sight as stray cats. This cat breed is known for its loyalty to their chosen person. Once they have formed a strong bond with someone, it is highly unlikely they will change their allegiance. Adopting a stray requires patience and time to develop this bond. It's a journey that requires dedication and consistent affection.
