Both the 'bi-color face' (often referred to as 'eight-character face' in Chinese) and the 'maple leaf face' are highly sought after for their captivating looks. As such, the price difference between these two face patterns isn't significant; the cat with the more desirable appearance tends to be slightly more expensive. Other factors such as the color of the nose, paw pads, and eyes also impact their overall value.

Both the 'maple leaf face' and the 'bi-color face' are variations of the bi-color Ragdoll. The 'maple leaf face' describes a bi-color Ragdoll with the colored markings on the upper part of the face resembling a maple leaf. There isn't a single fixed pattern; the white portion is deemed a 'maple leaf' if it resembles one. The 'bi-color face' has the colored markings forming a 'V' shape that slants from the eyes, creating an appearance akin to the Chinese character '八' (eight). Regardless of the pattern, the white markings should not extend beyond the outer corners of the eyes.

Furthermore, the colors of the nose and paw pads play a role in determining a Ragdoll's price. Ragdolls with pink noses and paw pads are generally more expensive. Similarly, the intensity and clarity of the eye color are crucial; the deeper, clearer, and more transparent the blue, the purer the breed, and the higher the price. Naturally, a Ragdoll with all these highly desirable traits will be rare and, therefore, quite expensive, but they are also very uncommon to find.

How to Choose a Ragdoll Cat with Good Features

Whether you prefer a maple leaf face or a bi-color face, focusing on overall quality is paramount. Ragdolls should have medium-sized ears that aren't too large or too small. The ears should be set wide apart with the tips slightly tilting forward and without any white edges. Ragdolls have six eye color grades, with the deepest and most vivid blue being the most desirable. The eyes should be large, round, and set not too far apart, with a slight upward slant at the corners. A Ragdoll's nose should be straight, small, and pink, and the muzzle should be full, soft, and well-defined, contributing to the cat's overall sweet and gentle appearance. There shouldn't be any random colors on the back that detract from the appearance. The ideal body shape is similar to a triangle; an equilateral triangle is considered excellent. Ragdolls have larger bone structures. A larger build is more desirable, as long as the cat isn't overly thin. Ragdolls with good features have legs that are neither too long nor too short; they are just right. Ragdolls are known for their thick coats; the more abundant, fluffy, and soft the fur, the better.
