American Shorthair vs. British Shorthair: Which Breed is Easier to Care for and Has a Better Temperament?

Both the American Shorthair and British Shorthair are short-haired cat breeds, sharing similar grooming needs due to their coat type. They are also known for their robust health, being less prone to illnesses, and generally do not require excessive care from their owners in terms of feeding. Therefore, in terms of ease of care, American Shorthairs and British Shorthairs are quite comparable. Important Considerations for Raising Cats

Generally, kittens can start deworming treatments at around 2 months of age. It is better to separate internal and external parasite treatments for better results. Internal deworming should be done every 3 months, and external deworming should be done monthly. However, the timing of deworming treatments may depend on the cat's lifestyle. If the cat lives in a very clean environment, does not go outdoors often, and does not eat raw meat, you can choose to deworm every 3 to 6 months, depending on the actual situation. Cats must be at least 56 days old before they can be vaccinated. It is recommended to wait at least one week after bringing a new cat home, ensuring the cat is healthy and shows no signs of discomfort before vaccinating. Cats typically receive 3 doses of the FVRCP vaccine (feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and panleukopenia) plus 1 dose of the rabies vaccine.
