Caring for a One-Month-Old Xia Si Dog: When Do They Recognize Their Owner?

Caring for a one-month-old Xia Si dog requires a gradual transition from mother's milk to puppy food. If the puppy is still with its mother, you can continue breastfeeding about twice a day, or you can wean them completely. If there is no mother available, feed the puppy specialized puppy milk replacer (goat's milk formula) twice a day and puppy food three times a day. This transition is crucial for their development and growth.

Around one month of age, the mother's milk is usually no longer sufficient to meet the puppy’s nutritional needs. It’s time to introduce commercial puppy food. You can feed them small kibble specifically designed for puppies, nutritional pastes, softened kibble or weaning food. If you choose to keep breastfeeding, reduce it to around twice a day or stop it entirely. If the puppy is not with its mother, provide specialized puppy goat's milk formula twice daily, in addition to puppy food three times a day. For puppy food, focus on small puppy kibble. Initially, soak the kibble in warm water until it is soft, allowing it to cool to around 37°C (98.6°F) before feeding the puppy. Refer to the feeding instructions on the puppy food package for the recommended amount, but adjust as necessary based on the puppy’s individual needs. It is important to monitor your one-month-old Xia Si dog’s rapid growth by weighing it weekly and adjusting the feed amounts accordingly.

When Do Puppies Start Recognizing Their Owners?

Generally, dogs begin to recognize their owners around 3 months old. Once a dog recognizes its owner, it will display high levels of obedience. They will respond immediately when their owner calls their name, obey commands, and learn through training. Additionally, a dog that recognizes its owner will exhibit protective behaviors. It will step in front of its owner to protect them in a dangerous situation and will often stay close to the owner while they are sleeping. Dogs that recognize their owners trust and rely on them deeply and often seek their owner’s affection and company. If their owner is absent, the dog might display anxiety and restlessness. These behaviors are signs of a strong bond between the dog and its owner, developed over time and through consistent positive interactions. The key to fostering a strong bond is constant interaction and love which in turn ensures your Xia Si dog develops a bond with their owner, leading to a happy life. The right training and the correct diet are also necessary for their overall well-being.Bonus resource:Pet Knowledge
