Will Cockatiels Overeat? Understanding Their Feeding Habits

Cockatiels have a natural sense of satiety and will not overeat to the point of harming themselves. Once they're full, they will naturally stop eating. It’s not something you need to worry about.

You don't need to precisely measure out how much your cockatiel eats each day. Simply fill their food dish daily. They'll eat what they need. Fresh water should be provided every day, as well. It's very important that you do not provide only one type of food; a varied diet is essential for the health of your cockatiel.

When caring for cockatiels, it’s critical to avoid feeding them foods containing alcohol or caffeine, such as chocolate. Other foods to keep away from your cockatiel include onions, garlic, salt, and avocados. They also should not be fed high-fat foods or cherry pits. A balanced diet for cockatiels includes seeds like sunflower seeds and rice. You can also feed them fresh fruits and vegetables. Including cuttlebone in their diet will provide needed calcium and support healthy growth and feather development.Follow us for updates:Pet Training
