At one month old, German Shepherd puppies are still nursing from their mother and quite small. By two months, they gradually begin weaning and develop their first baby teeth. Around three months, you can generally assess the puppy's conformation. The period from 4 to 8 months is a rapid growth phase, and by 9 to 12 months, their size is typically stabilized.

From nine to twelve months, German Shepherds typically undergo fewer physical changes, their size stabilizing. Variations in diet and exercise routines may result in slight fluctuations in weight, leaning towards either being a little overweight or underweight.
