How to Determine the Sex of a Three-Month-Old Scottish Fold Kitten

Determining the sex of a three-month-old Scottish Fold kitten can be done by observing the distance between the anus and the genitals.

The most accurate method for sexing kittens is by observing their genitals. It's often challenging to distinguish between male and female kittens at a young age because male kittens' testicles have not yet descended and are still within the abdominal cavity. This makes it difficult to determine sex visually. Typically, between two to five months of age, the testicles descend, making it much easier to identify male kittens. If the testicles are visible, the kitten is male.

To start, locate the kitten's anus. Directly below the anus is the kitten's genital area. By observing the distance between the genitals and the anus, you can make an educated guess about sex. Generally, the genitals of a female kitten are located closer to the anus, approximately 1 centimeter away. Conversely, the distance between a male kitten’s urethra and anus is usually greater, about 2.5 centimeters or more. Therefore, this difference in distance is a helpful indicator when determining the sex of your Scottish Fold kitten.Source:5D Pet World
