Determining the sex of a Himalayan cat can be done by observing the shape and distance of their genitals and anus. Additionally, male and female Himalayan cats often have different facial structures.

Identifying Sex Organs
The most direct method to differentiate between male and female cats is by examining their sex organs. Male cats possess a penis and testicles, while female cats have a vulva. This visual difference is usually quite apparent. When examining a Himalayan cat, this method is a reliable first step in determining their sex.
Anus and Genital Distance
Another method involves observing the relationship between their anus and genital opening. Gently lift the cat's tail. If there is a two- to three-finger distance between the anus and the genital opening, it's likely a male Himalayan cat. If the distance is closer, approximately one to two fingers, the cat is likely female. This method is particularly useful when sexing young Himalayan kittens.
Visual Differences in Kittens
When determining the sex of Himalayan kittens, focus on their anal area. In female kittens, the external genitalia will appear closer to the anus, somewhat resembling an upside-down exclamation point. In male kittens, the external genitalia will be further from the anus, giving the appearance of a colon. These are subtle visual cues but can be helpful in differentiating between sexes of young Himalayans.
Facial Shape Differences
Male and female Himalayan cats also tend to have different facial features. Male cats often develop more pronounced 'cheeks' or 'jowls,' making their face appear fuller and rounder. This is due to the development of facial muscles. In contrast, female cats tend to have a more refined and less puffy facial appearance. These differences, though not always definitive, can be additional indicators when assessing a Himalayan cat's sex. Knowing these differences can make it easier to identify the sex of your Himalayan cat.Free access here:Pet Grooming
